Surviving Love: When it comes to experiencing violence, the odds are not in favor of Native American women: The murder rate for Native women in the United States is 10 times the national average; 1 in 3 Native women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime; and domestic violence rates are seven times higher for Natives than women from other demographics. This presentation provides context to these (and other) numbers from cultural, historical, systemic, and gender-based viewpoints.
